Latinos in Finance

This comprehensive training program provides students with the essential skills needed for a successful career in banking. Participants will learn about cash handling, customer service, counterfeit currency detection, check fundamentals, compliance, safety and security procedures. Additionally, the program emphasizes job readiness skills through resume and cover letter writing, communication training, online job search strategies, and interviewing techniques, providing students with a solid foundation and a clear career growth path in the banking industry.
 
The program also features presentations by experienced professionals from prominent local banking institutions. These experts offer valuable insights into the banking sector, share their career experiences, and provide guidance on internships and networking opportunities. Through these interactions, students gain a deeper understanding of the banking industry, the skills required to succeed and its diverse career paths.
 
Program Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age
Have a high school degree or equivalency
Advanced English proficiency
Eligible to legally work in the US
Desire to learn and grow
Dependable and punctual
 
Class Schedule:
Six weeks in person
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday
9am – 1pm

LWFI-Para-Educator (Parent2Para)

Are you a Lawrence Public Schools’ parent? Would you like to work in the Lawrence Public Schools as a paraeducator (teacher’s assistant)? Then this is the program for you! The Para-educator program is a nine-month program. The first semester provides classroom instruction and job readiness training. During the second semester (January – May), participants gain hands-on experience through a paid classroom internship and taketwo free college credit courses at Northern Essex Community College. 
Program Requirements: 
Must be 18+ years of age
Have a high school degree or equivalency
Advanced English proficiency
Eligible to legally work in the US
No criminal record
Desire to work with children
Dependable and punctual
 Class Schedule: 
Nine months:  Semester 1: September – December and Semester 2: January – May
Monday – Friday
9am – 1pm

Medical Customer Service Training

This program is designed to equip you with the skills necessary to succeed as a medical customer service representative, regardless of your prior experience. The curriculum includes 4 weeks of classroom instruction, focusing on both job-specific skills and job readiness skills, such as resume and cover letter writing and interviewing techniques. Following the classroom instruction, you will participate in a 4-week paid internship at our medical partner site, Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC).
 
Program Requirements:
Must be 18+ years of age
Have a high school degree or equivalency
Advanced English proficiency
Eligible to legally work in the US
Desire to learn and grow
Dependable and punctual
 
Class Schedule:
4-week in person training: Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, from 1pm – 3 pm
4-week paid internship: Monday-Friday, from 9am – 1pm
