Orchard Street Green Homeownership Ground Breaking

The Orchard Street Green Homeownership project is an innovative partnership between LCW, Mill Cities Community Investments (MCCI, our local/regional CDFI), and Elvinson Corporan and Yamarco Guzman (Equity Development Group), two local developers/builders who grew up in the area and have been steadily building a portfolio of projects. At its completion this project will develop four highly green, energy-efficient town-house style homeownership units on one of the largest remaining blighted parcels in the area at 15 Orchard Street, complementing and building on LCW’s ongoing revitalization work. The existing lot will be subdivided into four parcels, each having yard space front and back, as well as 2 parking spots at the rear, accessed through (and improving) one of the existing alleyways that crisscross the area. The units themselves will have 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a full basement, with a design partly based on our recent energy-efficient Union & Milford Homeownership Project (completed 2019), modified for a completely electrified building. Construction will begin in the Fall of 2023, with an expected completion date in the Fall 2024, these homes will be available to eligible families under 80% of AMI through a lottery process.
