In Memoriam - Armand Michael Hyatt

Armand Michael Hyatt was a founding board member of Lawrence CommunityWorks who has served continuously since 1986. During that time, he brought an indomitable spirit, a passion for justice, and a deep love of his fellow humans—not to mention a keen legal mind, a vital sense of play and creativity, and strong grasp of tactics and strategy—to all our endeavors. Nearly all of LCW’s real estate projects have been guided in some fashion by Armand—through acquisition negotiations, creative financing, legal structuring, troubleshooting, or innovative elements. Moreover, Armand was both a warrior and a poet for social justice, one of the guiding lights of our community who always walked the talk, embodied the concept of joy in the struggle, and inspired others to do the same. Armand's legacy will forever live on in LCW's work. Rest in peace brother.
