In addition to our affordable housing development and transformative neighborhood revitalization efforts, LCW is also a multi-faceted, community-based organization providing a broad spectrum of programs and services for adults, youth, individuals, and families. All of the programs we offer are designed to meet the needs of Lawrence residents. By sharing opportunities for people to unlock their existing strengths, connections, and aspirations, we focus our work on the following key pillars of LCW’s mission.
Our Program Areas
Financial Empowerment
Offers an accessible ecosystem of homeownership education and financial coaching, rental stabilization and counseling, savings and credit building opportunities
Workforce Development
Provides practical job skills training and placement, employment coaching, and applied adult learning opportunities in ESOL and digital literacy
Movement City Youth Network
Engages after-school and summer enrichment programs for youth to explore and create using art, performance, and technology. Promotes leadership, academic support and civic engagement.
Real Estate Development
Revitalizes Lawrence for its residents through equitable neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing & homeownership projects, commercial/community hubs, open space and parks
Network Organizing
Builds connections and social capital through networking and organizing opportunities, education and leadership support, volunteer engagement, and collective action
Lawrence Working Families Initiative (LWFI)
Coordinates employment, coaching, and support for parents of school-aged children in collaboration with the Lawrence Public Schools.
COVID Relief
Responds to emergency hardships with financial housing/utility, benefits screenings, community support and resources
