Job Trainings & Coaching

This training provides students with the basic banking skills (cash handling, customer service, counterfeit currency, check fundamentals, compliance, safety & security, 10 key, etc.) needed to start a career in the financial sector with a career growth path.  We also prioritize job readiness skills (professional portfolio, mock interviews, communication, online job search, interviewing techniques, etc.) and each student is required to attend a pre- and post-financial coaching session.

This training is a Lawrence Working Families Initiative (LWFI) collaboration between LCW and Lawrence Public Schools, Lawrence Adult Learning Center, Northern Essex Community College, MassHire and The Community Group.  It provides students with the basic skills needed to work in the school system as an Assistant Teacher and preparation to pass the ParaProfessional test required by the Lawrence Public Schools system.

All program participants receive individualized coaching and support with the job search process. Our dedicated and passionate Employment Specialists are available to meet with you to work on a weekly job search plan, create or update your resume, and practice Power Skills to help you find a position.

Digital Literacy

TechConnect is a four-week, bilingual (English/Spanish), “beginner bootcamp” program that introduces students to basic uses of the internet, managing an email account, navigating different types of electronic devices (tablets, laptops, desktops, smartphones) and accessing virtual platforms such as Zoom & Google Meet.

This training provides students with intermediate computer and job readiness skills (resume writing, interviewing skills, time management, communication, etc.).  Each student is required to attend financial coaching sessions.  The goal of the program is to give students the computer literacy and workforce skills they need to get a job in a tech- or digital-based industry that has potential for growth.
